Carpenter
Overview: A carpenter is defined as a craftsman with a skill and experience level greater than a helper or laborer, but less than a lead carpenter. The carpenter will generally have a smaller tool inventory and will need direction on performing activities beyond basic carpentry skills. The company assumes a carpenter desires to become a lead carpenter unless he/she has indicated otherwise In this position you are accountable to the Foreman and Production Manager. You are to report to the Production Manager.
Company Goal: To develop and train the carpenter to become a Lead Carpenter. To advance to the next higher carpenter classification, the following characteristics must be exhibited*:
* Specialized talents will be recognized and handled in the appropriate manner including overseeing particular projects, properly executing the work and be classified accordingly.
Sales Position
We are interested in highly motivated sales individuals that have proven success in outside sales, who are not afraid to set their own goals and reach them, but also crush them!
The sales representative will be responsible for selling and representing the entire Deimler and Sons process to homeowners, builders, interior designers and architects.
COMPENSATION:
- No cap on commission
- Unlimited income and growth potential.

Carpenter Level 1 Position
Responsibilities:
- To take direction from the Lead Carpenter in completing the job at hand.
- To continually ask questions in order to increase your knowledge in areas outside your expertise.
- To direct and help laborers when necessary (i.e. - clean up, lift something).
- To provide the following Customer services:
- Smoke free work place.
- Radio volume in moderation.
- Protection of Customer's property.
- Have and maintain basic tools.

Carpenter Level 2 Position
Responsibilities:
All Level 1 Responsibilities and the following:
- To have and maintain all necessary hand tools and common power tools (i.e. saws, drills, etc.).
- To report potential problems to the lead carpenter or the office.
- Maintain a clean job site on a daily basis.
- To provide/do the following:
- Dust barriers and drop cloths.
- Basic problem solving.
- Initiate basic job preparations and daily start-up procedures.

Carpenter Level 3 Position
Responsibilities:
All Level 1 and 2 Responsibilities and the following:
- To be thinking ahead and be able to work independently on assigned projects with little instruction.
- To correct hazardous conditions (if possible).
- Check deliveries against delivery slips.
- To teach carpent's level #1 and #2 when asked a question.
- Lead and work on small projects as directed by the Lead Carpenter.
- Set an example for others in conduct and speech as referenced in the Employee Information Guide.
- Continually monitor job site protection (i.e. - safety for both employees and customers, floor protection, dust protection).
- Be able to layout, schedule, frame and finish:
- Decks
- Minor interior non-load bearing walls
- Have and be willing to execute the following written and verbal communications:
- Have read and be familiar with the project documents given to the Lead Carpenter.
- In the absence of the Lead Carpenter be able to call the office and accurately describe a particular field problem and suggest options that are available.
- The handling of Change Orders:
- Knowing when to call the Office to review a potential Change Order and to assist the Salesman in providing any immediately required pricing to the Customer.
- Properly filling out Time and Material forms.

Carpenter Level 4 Position
Responsibilities:
Carpenter Level 4 (Lead Man in Training)
All Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Responsibilities and the following:
- Make a material list and labor request when necessary.
- Oversee sub-contractors when necessary.
- Accurately analyze blueprints and plans.
- Be able to layout and calculate amounts of materials needed for:
- Rough framing
- Roof framing
- Finish work
- Drywall work
- Be able to layout, schedule, frame, finish, etc.:
- Room additions
- Kitchens and baths
- Fire restorations
- Manage coordination and scheduling of job site:
- Material suppliers
- Other carpenters, painters, laborers, subcontractors etc.
- Assist in partial/final payment collection procedures when directed by the Production Manager or Sales Representative (for convenience purposes).
The promotion, etc., to Lead Carpenter will not occur until after the carpenter's skill has reached this level.

Sales Position
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be an energetic effective communicator who is able to excel in a very independent sales environment. Candidate must have at least 1 year of sales experience, preferably in the construction related field.
- Basic computer skills (i.e.: Word, Excel, Internet)
- Strong communication, listening and presentation skills
- Attention to details, and closing skills
- In home sales/ experience selling to homeowners preferred
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to build rapport quickly … knows how to have fun at work!
