Aging In Place/Universal Design

Minimize

Deimler & Sons Construction has been employing Universal Design principles for many years.  Universal Design is the ability for many people of different abilities to access the functions in the home with little or no adaptation.  This includes individuals with limited abilities.  By utilizing these design principles, not only can the space look great, but it can function well for all individuals.

In addition to renovating homes with universal design principles in mind, we also have individuals with their CAPS (Certified Aging in Place Specialists) designations.  This specialized training, conducted by the NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) trains remodelers in ways to adapt homes to allow people to stay in their homes as long as possible before needing to move into a facility with more specialized care.

As the US population ages, more people want to stay in their homes or are combining households.  Most of the homes that were built over the past century were not designed with this in mind.  Deimler & Sons has been making modifications to existing homes and adding parent suites for many years.  Not only are we familiar with the many types of construction techniques used over the past century, but we are also familiar with current codes and available products to maximize the utilization of your home.
